REGIONAL CHAPTERS (ONTARIO)

The southern half of this region is bush, lakes and rivers. The northern half has more of an arctic feel to it. Fishing, boating , snowmobiling and skiing are the main area attractions. Thunder Bay does have some tourist things to do.
This area probably gets the longest winters in Ontario, summers can get hot and late spring and early fall can be nice. The northern part of this region can get real cold in the winter and summers might get hot.

The southern part of this region has exposed Canadian Shield with pockets of farm land. The northern part of this region is quite different and is all wilderness. The larger cities have developed some attractions for tourists. The main activities are fishing, hunting, boating, snowmobiling and cross country skiing. When southern regions have a warm winter they will travel to this region for winter activities.
Summers can get hot in the southern part of the region , winters are cold, late spring and early fall have a nice moderate climate. The northern part of this region can get real cold in the winter and summers might get hot.

Two large beaches and numerous smaller secluded public beaches, the Bruce Trail on the Niagara Escarpment for fantastic hiking, the Trent Canal, Canadian Shield north of the Trent, fishing in Lake Huron , Georgian Bay or inland lakes and rivers, in the winter downhill skiing, cross county skiing and snowmobiling are enjoyed for up to three months.
Summers are normally hot, winters can be cold, late spring and early fall have a nice moderate climate.

Forts and the Rideau Canal were built to stop the American Invasion. Also, American Loyalist fled from United States to this region. The land is a mixture of farms and wilderness with lots of lakes. All types of fishing in this region is good. Boating is also popular as there are two canals. One goes from Lake Ontario to Ottawa and the other goes to Georgian Bay.
Summers are normally hot, winters are normally cold, late spring and early fall have a nice moderate climate. The northern part of this region can get cold in the winter.

Attractions and Nightlife are the main features of this area. There are beaches but few people swim there except on Lake Erie. Lake and river fishing are good but most people do not eat the fish except from Lake Erie.
Summers are normally hot, winters are not that cold with little snow, late spring and early fall have a nice moderate climate.

Along Lake Erie and Lake Huron are great beaches. Lake Erie and Lake St. Clair are known for fishing and Lake Huron does have Salmon and Rainbow Trout.
Summers are normally hot, winters are normally not real cold, spring and fall have a nice moderate climate. The southern part of this region is one of the warmest places in Canada.
